Maternity Unit Space Utilisation Study
A study to assess the current use and future potential of the Maternity Unit, a purpose designed, self contained unit on the Trust's site. Existing use was documented with schedules of accommodation, and future requirements estimated on the basis of analysis of activity data and demographic trends. Discussions with key staff on current patterns of care, and influences likely to affect future requirements informed the report which identified a series of options for the Trust's consideration.

The work involved consultation over a lengthy period with clinical staff throughout the affected departments to achieve a consensus on the configuration of the refurbished areas.

The report detailed the results of a benefits analysis undertaken with the staff, as well as discounted cash flows to establish a net present value for short listed options.

Project brief for a replacement of out-moded accommodation, including wards, outpatient facilities, linear accelerator suite, theatres, pain management, hostel accommodation and administrative support. The project was part of the wider strategic re-engineering initiative in this pilot site that presented the opportunity to critically re-appraise operational policies, functions and core activities of the whole hospital.

Briefing Pack, Digital X-ray Unit
Project brief for a new build solution which included Computerised Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging facilities. X-ray equipment in diagnostic rooms produce digital images allowing the hospital to become totally 'filmless' once storage of existing radiographs is no longer necessary.
