| AutoBRIEF
is the registered trade name for the Company's in-house health
facility planning information system.
The
database system contains the knowledge gained of scheme content
and procurement processes over the past 10 years and during
current projects.
Maintaining
standard templates based on national guidance, statutory requirements
and our practical experience enables us to rapidly model new
or refurbished health facilities at the inception of a new
project.
The
data in the standard templates is used to report proposals
and promote discussion with user representatives. Information
is managed with the system throughout the consultation process,
as the user requirements are resolved.
AutoBRIEF
manages information on departments, rooms, equipment, services
and physical environment, such as heating, lighting and ventilation
levels.

Future
development
We are
actively developing the database to keep pace with changing
technologies, procurement processes and new ways of working.
A Teaching
Company Scheme was recently successfully completed, with the
University of Sheffield Information Studies Department. The
purpose of the project was to fully document our current version
of the information system and re-engineer more effective solutions.
As a
result, we are now in the midst of developing a web-enabled
version that will facilitate more effective communication
with other project team members.
We
then intend to build upon other research, into 3D technologies,
to further improve project communications by developing a
3D graphical interface for interactive development of briefing
information. |
